| a new baby boy! |

sorry I didn't say anything earlier,
we had our boy yesterday, at 11:39 am. (3.1.10)
His name is Logan Anthony Mejia, he was 8 pounds 2 oz., 20.75 inches long,
no, he wasn't born with a beard, but does have a lot of hair.
(I think he's going to be a tall boy, he has large feet)
so sunday night, after I finally get my car on the road, (I guess it would be early monday, around midnight)
I get home, but I didn't go to bed until 2am or so. Well, Mindy's water broke at 3am,
but contractions didn't start until 4am, we arrived at the hospital around 7am.
we did a water birth with a midwife, without any medication, at the Woodwinds hospital, in Woodbury.
(which, is a really great place to have a baby!)
everyone is healthy and doing well.
YEAH!
so the same day that I get the GT back up and running, (It was overheating, but I just need to burp it, lol)
is the same day our boy was introduced to this crazy world.
I need to pickup some cigars, oh, and I took the week off from both jobs, so I'll be in the arcade!
(my last day at FASTSIGNS® is Aprll 9th, I can't wait.)

| Fuck Facebook: How I Cured Myself of Internet AIDS. |

Today I decided to stop using Facebook. As most of you probably saw with the group I created. I'm done with it. I wont be returning to it after this week. And this week's visits will be mainly to update that group page as a first responder.
Look, I know Facebook has its merits. It does. It lets you find people you may have lost touch with from your past. And you know what, in that rare instance that you find a long lost sibling or really good friend that moved away, it's cool for that. But the other 99.9% of the time it is pure, unadultered stupid narcissism.
I came to the realization that sites like Myspace, Facebook and such, only serve to dumb down and de-personalize (is that a word?) relationships and friendships. Watering them down to dry, hollow responses and thumbs up.
As dead as this place has been as of late, I find that every time I read a post here it makes me smile. And I can read those posts without wading through a bunch of narcissistic garbage, stupid game updates, and retarded gifts.
You will never find the following here:
Gifting
Games
Like OR dislike buttons
Streaming instant updates
Strangers sending you love gifts
and the list goes on.
For those of you that are here, I salute you. And offer to you my sincerest friendship, no matter what. This place has always been my home, but over the years I've neglected it a bit more than I should have. From this point forward, this is where I will make my last stand on the internet, my last haven for good times, good conversation (or stupid conversation) and most of all, friends. In the past we've tried to get this place full of people, but now I'm thinking I like the peace and quiet and chatty lounge atmosphere.
If you feel the same way, that's cool. I don't think everyone is ready to delete their Social Networking shitstorms yet. And that's fine. It isn't for everyone. But when you are ready, we'll be here. And you can enjoy discussing real things with real people for a change.
